Thursday night at a chic little gallery on west 20 street in Manhattan I was ecstatic when I saw the work of artist Barnaby Ruhe. Not only couldn't I believe the calibre of his art, but the world of glamour was all around me. My writer/curator friend Lee M. Klein was there, and I met an upcoming alternative rock singer named Anne.
After we were done with the opening, we went with Barnaby to his artist's loft. I saw even more amazing pieces there, but felt obligated to minimize my material greed and assert my artists integrity, not taking photos there.
Following are photos from the opening...the guy with the beret is Barnaby Ruhe.

Jason Bourne in the Real World!!!
Just saw The Bourne Legacy. Guess you have
to like "the real world of espionage"(a la Times
Square : Spy Exhibition) to enjoy this cinema. I thought Aaron
Cross, the latest in rogue agents, was intrigueing & the tie-in to Jason
Bourne at the end of the movie, with Pamala Landy exposed as conspiring with
Bourne with her release of classified Treadstone information, and Noah Visen
testifying about Bourne at a congressional hearing was pretty cool. I wonder if
there's some kind of real world incidence of Pamala Landy's expose that takes
the form of the NY Times recent release of actual classified US intelligence
information. My favorite one of these NY Times classified intel releases was
the one in the June issue of the NY local hardcopy paper which details
Stuxxnet, Duqu and the Wipe cyberspy/cyberwar internet programs in the guise of
some sort of real world tie-in to Jason Bourne!!! Note, this Duqu-Jason Bourne
article is on the first page of the NY Times buisness section. Look it up in the following link, I
dare you. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/31/technology/researchers-link-flame-virus-to-stuxnet-and-duqu.html?_r=1&ref=computermalware

The Problem With China's Trade Surplus
- The Helios Conspiracy is a vast improvement over the faux escapist …
- The metric behind the Fortress Euro conspiracy vision, that we’re all gonna get rich on the fascist pretensions of Chinese money & economy, is paranoid delusional, as that old world charm is disintegrating!

Tomorrow
One of the best movies I’ve seen to date was Act of Valor, starring real, active duty U.S. Navy Seals. What I liked most of all is that they portrayed real past missions fictionally and used a large array of real military hardware; this includes a mission to rescue of a kidnapped CIA agent, and a nuclear submarine that shows the might of the U.S. military to offend and defend. I am a strict realist, and appreciate what I believe the French call cinema verite; movies so real you feel part of the action, giving you a perspective that you may not be able to find any other way.
Another aspect of this movie I found fascinating, is it’s relation of U.S. Navy Seals credo and guiding principles. One of these is the idea to have absolutely no fear of death. Not only does this make for a very effective soldier, it also shows true depth in their character, apropos for fighting a war!
One of the things I liked most about the movie, it galvanized my American patriotism on many levels…I found all the American ideals and ambitions I had learned in school and life, were not only protected by an awesome military force, but I felt the noble spirit of my countries military establishing a corridor to rise above the new cold war and anti-Americanism, into the futuristic realm I thought I’d live to see when I first saw the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey in the 1960’s. When I saw this submarine cut through the waves completely eclipsing the might of the Russian navy a la the Kursk , I knew we might finally decisively win the cold war we had fought so long against the Soviets, with all their European airs. By the way, I’m a Russian-American, which makes my position all the more difficult.
You see, before you judge me as a one-sided right winger, you must realize all the positivist grandeur that has come out of the military industrial complex, from technology, and yes, culture, something that most of the world doesn’t think Americans have.
Don’t tread on me! Semper Fi

The Taliban mindset in Afghanistan is still dragging women down into androcentric mire in a reactionary status quo. What could've changed in the grand scheme of things is a significant change toward real enlightenment in the overall global mindset, offsetting the power of the Taliban and the like to achieve their backward aims.

Cutting Edge Art at the Fountain Art Fair!
As a VIP at the Fountain Art Fair in New York City I saw endless state of the art artistic creations. I met an artist from Tokyo whose art was masterfully poetic and suggested a science fiction future that exists now. Another artist I met was from France. She had photos and looped videos from Kyoto and Tokyo. If I weren't somewhat familiar with Japan her images would've alienated me into feeling like a gaijin.
Not only was the art amazing, the atmosphere of the avantegarde made me feel like a new age of our species is about to emerge, as I've often theorized it would.

EU Soveriegn Debt Crisis In Terms Of Fortress DC & Euro!
European Central Bank to Recover Most of Its Lehman Loans - NYTimes.com

My response to the news article in the above link follows:
Maybe somewhere in this article is a clue to what happened to the European Union's equivalent to Americas Lehman trauma. Could it be there's some problem at European Central Bank or the Bundesbank, or is it Societe General? Crawling out of Depression 2.0 with some new cold war looming imminently on the horizon, I don't know what to think. What I do know is President Obama has placed the US in such an excellent position, that there's a level playing field for America in the global arena. I'm tired of the old way when Europeans would posture there is no culture in the US, conspiring with an envious group of nations publicly or privately to get what we have. The American Dream is still very real!
